Knight errant, born in the present but tending towards the past. Passionate about history and living history in particular.
Trained as a graphic designer and animator for cartoons, but working mainly as an illustrator and graphic designer for print media, websites and recently as a visualizer for indoor and outdoor amusement parks.
Always on the lookout for the creative Holy Grail that makes
the heart beat more intensely.
My name is Luc Vincent, I live with my family in Zaffelare, a sub-municipality of Lochristi (East Flanders, Belgium).
As already been said above, history and in particular the Middle Ages is my greatest passion.
Sometimes I can incorporate that passion into the work I have done for most of my career as a cartoonist. Sometimes the art of the past inspires the design of new material for all kinds of media, whether it's illustration, storyboarding, designing attractions or even organizing events.
The latter has been a pleasant and stimulating change from my normal work for the past five years (including the two corona years).
For the 800th anniversary of our municipality of Zaffelare, I was able to form a working group with which I was able to organize events to celebrate this special anniversary. The design and production of our new giants called Manten and Kalle was a first project which was soon followed up by a major historical event covering an area of five hectares (Historia Mundi 2022).
For the benefit of two associations that take care of cancer patients, young and old, we also organized a real vintage fashion modeshow with 40 mannequins and 250 authentic historical outfits dated from 1875 to 1975.
We closed the jubilee year with a beautiful concert in a historic location in Zaffelare.

Coordinating the event year (which eventually became 2 years - 2021 and 2022) allowed me to discover another side of what fascinates me:
organizing (historic) events in a certain context and with a certain (historic) style.
For all events, I also designed the posters, entry tickets and other printed matter. I built the website and provided the necessary content.
In the meantime, we have founded an association that takes on the management of the new giants of Zaffelare, Manten and Kalle, and has also has the ambition to continue to hold events inspired by world history, just as we did for 800 years of Zaffelare.
The association was named Manten & Kalle Events.

I'm 55 now but in my heart and in my mind I'm still just a little older than half that age!
I hope to bring my experience, acquired during my years as a cartoonist and illustrator, as well as a designer of amusement parks and even the 5 years as 'designer' of the 800 years of Zaffelare, towards new Horizons.
